SUMMARY:Lantern Making Workshops
DESCRIPTION:Boxford Fireworks will be held on Saturday 29th October. The event starts with a parade of illuminated lanterns processing from The White Hart car park to the playing fields. The procession leaves the White Hart at 6:30pm. \nThe lanterns for the procession are made in craft workshop sessions at Boxford Spinney during the week leading up to the fireworks. This year’s sessions are as follows: \nSaturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd October – Formal Workshop \nThis is a formal (over-14s only) 2 day workshop to make large parade lanterns that will impress spectators and be the envy of your friends. We recommend a team of at least two and no more than four (this is just a guide\, you will need enough people to carry your lantern). If you wish to make a larger lantern\, it is essential that you book into this workshop. Bookings are limited to 8 teams and the workshop runs over both days starting promptly at 10:00am and finishing at 4:00pm. You will need to bring a packed lunch\, tea and coffee will be provided. \nMonday 24th to Thursday 27th October – Informal Workshop  \nThis is an informal drop-in workshop aimed at both children and adults (children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult). In this workshop you will have time to make smaller lanterns that can be carried by one person (or 2 if it is slightly larger). You should allow 3 hours crafting time for the smallest lanterns\, the larger the lantern the longer it takes. For smaller children\, we have some pre-prepared lanterns that can be finished off. Some people like to come back the next day or later in the week to finish off. Workshops close at 4:00pm daily. \nInstructional sessions start at 10am and 1pm daily. These sessions are on a drop in basis.
